Very good. Reminds me of an old black-&-white film called 'Invaders From Mars' that I saw repeated on TV a few times when I was a kid - everyone in that had strange marks on the back of their neck which made them act in a peculiar manner, except for a little kid who somehow avoided getting a mark on his neck, worked the whole thing out and saved the world. I always wanted to be that little kid.
(Is it wrong to admit that I was expect a paedophile reference in the punchline? That's a societal mania combining with my own dark humour, I fear.)

"...was expecting..." that should be, of course. With grammar like that, I could write VCR instructions.
